Affordable health insurance while serving part-time
Serving in the National Guard can qualify you for TRICARE, a low-cost military health insurance option. It is real coverage that can cover you and often your family while you serve.
TRICARE health coverage for Guard Soldiers
TRICARE is the military’s low-cost health insurance program. Serving in the Army National Guard and enrolling in TRICARE can mean reliable coverage for doctor visits, prescriptions, and care when you need it — without the high cost of many civilian plans.
For many Guard Soldiers, this one benefit is a major financial advantage.
Lower-cost coverage that fits a part-time role
Lower monthly premiums than many employer plans
Coverage that can include your family
Medical and dental options
Note: TRICARE Reserve Select includes a monthly premium and some out-of-pocket costs, similar to many civilian health plans. Premium rates are set each year on a calendar-year basis.
How Guard health insurance shows up in real life
