5/16/05, DALLAS, TX - Paramount Pictures and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) have teamed up to offer a free preview screening of the comedy film, The Longest Yard, a remake of the 1974 film of the same name.

The special military screening, which will be AAFES' 49th, will be the largest free preview AAFES has ever taken part in. "Sixty-three AAFES Reel Time Theaters will screen the film one time 'free' of charge during the weekend of May 21st," noted Richard Sheff, Vice President of AAFES' Food & Theater Division. "Paramount Pictures has been very generous in providing prints for AAFES to premiere this film at military facilities from Ft. Irwin in California to Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts. Providing entertainment for service men and women, and their family members, plays a key roll in maintaining morale. Each screening has truly become a community event. Installation Command and participants are equally thankful to distributors for the special service they provide." Service members may visit their nearest AAFES exchange for film availability.

Screening dates will allow troops to see The Longest Yard well in advance of the film's commercial theatrical release on May 27, 2005.
