Get fit for Basic Training

Getting fit to fight is critical to success on the battlefield. But first, you'll want to get fit for Basic Training Basic Training:
(BT) 10-week course of intense physical and mental training, during which recruits develop essential Soldier skills and values.
(BT).

At BT, your mind and body will be pushed to the limit. You'll overcome your fears and graduate as an American Soldier. So how do you get from fit-for-the-couch to fit-for-Basic? Simple: Train up.

At BT, you will be asked to take the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). This consists of:

• Push-ups (2 minutes)

• Sit-ups (2 minutes)

• Two-mile run

Your height, weight and gender affect how you will be scored on your performance. Review the standards.

We've selected the essential workouts to prep you for the rigors of BT and the APFT. If at any point you have questions, talk to a Soldier. We're here to help you succeed!
