Hi im 19 and seriously thinking about enlisting. Have been for a while and no im getting ready to do it. I can do the pushups and the situps no problem but my running is WEAK. on the tread milli can do 1 mile in a bout 8 minutes but the long distance blows. If i try to pace my self my calf muscles hurt more from jogging then do from flat out running. Any suggestions. Also im in the minneapolis mn area and would love some motivation or company running.

I am not too good at running myself, but the best thing I can suggest is pacing yourself, and getting off of that treadmill because treadmills dont help much. You need to strech before you run and after you run. If your going to go to the guard, as we all on here intend on doing, you need to be in good physical shape and be able to have alot of running, because in the RSP program that trains you before you go to BCT you run everywhere, there is not allowed any running at all.
