There are several ways to skin the cat. If you're attending college full time, then ROTC is the way to go. If not, then OCS is your only option. Each state has a different force structure, but I think you'll find that you'll have a hard time getting an MI slot as a lieutenant. You need to look at combat arms branches, or perhaps Chemical (the CBRNE defense component is certainly desirable from a homeland defense perspective). Any LNO slots will take you years to reach. You need to be thinking about platoon leader and company XO jobs right now.
