Default Apply to college while in AIT

Great forum! I'm in AIT until mid September and would like to apply to colleges by end of August for Spring '07. I am being told I can not apply to college and subsequently ROTC until I finish AIT. Is this correct? Anyone point me to correct person to discuss this with. Thanks.

You'll want to apply in advance, because you can't just show up on the first day of class. Plan ahead so you'll start school after you complete AIT. Speak with your ROTC officer now, because ROTC has additional requirements for eligibility.

Thanks for the reply. I attended one year of college before joining, so I am aware of college enrollment process and timeframes. My liason officer is telling me I can not even apply to college until I finish AIT. I thought this strange as college and ROTC leatimes are 6-9 months. Should I talk to the ROTC officer at one of the colleges I will be applying to?
