    Default Question of Confusion

Ok, I was trying to read the chart on the push-ups and sit-ups and I'm a little confused on how to read it. Basically, all I want to know is, I am 20yrs old, male, how many push-ups,sit-ups do I have to be able to do at the end of basic and how far do I have to be able to run in what amount of time?

    Default hello there

hey my name is john and i have looked at that before alright and for the APFT you must do three events, pushups, situps, and the 2 mile run. for your gender and age group you must do 35 pushups in 2 minutes, 47 situps in 2 minutes, and the 2 mile run in a maximum of 16:36, and then im not to sure what your goal is at the end of basic training somebody thats already gone through would have to help you but there you go

    Default Pushups, run, and situps

When do I have to do the pushups, run, and situps? Is it when they are doing my physical and such.

You will have to take the APFT once a year in the National Guard. You will also have to take one at certain schools that you go to. That is when you are going to do the push ups, sit ups and run.

BASIC TRAINING GRADUATION APFT REQUIREMENT(Male 20 yrs):
    2 MINUTES PUSHUPS: 35 reps
    2 MINUTES SITUPS: 47 reps
    2-MILE RUN: 16:36

ADVANCED INDIVIDUAL TRAINING GRADUATION APFT REQUIREMENT (Male 20 yrs):
    2 MINUTES PUSHUPS: 42 reps
    2 MINUTES SITUPS: 53 reps
    2-MILE RUN: 15:54

The basic training graduation requirements become the requirements to ENTER ait. I am unsure of the requirements to enter Basic training. I believe it is 17 pushups and 30 situps, but thats just my "guesstimate". Good luck on the PT! and make sure you get yourself in shape NOW while you can work at your own pace.
O yea and the AIT grad. requirements become your monthly drill APFT standard after you graduate. Any questions about basic or ait or anything just PM me and ill answer to the best of my knowledge.
