Thread: What canI do?

    Question What canI do?

I recently left the Army on a medical discharge. I have talked to several different recruiters from different branches about what I could do with a RE 4 code. I know that it states in the regulations "Normally this means reenlistment is not advised." The key word is "normally". I know that under certian conditions rules are interpreted to mean different things to different people. Can you help? If I were to see a VA Physician and be cleared of the previous diagnosis, with tangible proof, could I reenlist? I could also provide reference letters from my last unit Commander and 1SG in regard to my character and abilities. Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Jimmie M. Stack

What was your injury? I believe that as long as you have medical documents stating that the injury is fully healed and won't cause further problems, then you should be ok.

Jimmie: you need to go talk to a recruiter in person with all of your paperwork.

Default Attention all RE-4 service members

Attention all RE-4 service members. Master Sergeant Gregory Rhoads of the Recruiting and Retention Command of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard has agreed to review each of your individual situations to see if you are qualified for reenlistment. Please contact him at gregory.rhoads@us.army.mil or by phone at 717-861-6801 or fax at 717-861-6807. You may also write him a letter detailing your situation at MSG Gregory A. Rhoads, HQ STARC, PAARNG, Building 19-76, FTIG, Annville, PA 17003-5002.

Could you also do me a favor and let me know your status and how MSG Rhoads has helped you by e-mailing me at mark.Sternagle@us.army.mil I was in the Navy but I was discharged with an RE-4 code. It took me 9-1/2 years to get back in, but now I am the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Soldier of the Year and I will take a personal interest in your case. Just be sure to contact MSG Rhoads first with all the details of your case for his personal review. I am sure he will be able to help each of you out. Thank you.
