Default Looking to transition from Active Duty to the National Guard/Reserves

Just wanted to get some feedback on this issue . . .

I am currently serving on active duty as a CPT in Military Intelligence (35D). I just completed my fourth year on active duty and am looking at dropping my packet to separate from the military around May 2007, however I was interested in separating from active duty in the hopes of joining the reserves or national guard. What is the process to cross over?

I am interested in staying in Georgia, but possibly could re-locate to the VA/DC/MD area. I still need to go to the CPT's Advance Course too . . . will I need to do this immediately after transitioning over?

Anyone who may have any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Contact the Reserve Component Career Counselor (RCCC) at your post, who will assist you in the process. At many of the larger posts, there is a "Silver Siege" officer (an ARNG lieutenant) who will be of the best help.

I have a home for you in Virginia with the famous 29th Infantry Division. Feel free to contact me directly.
