    Question Help

Here's the deal, I am 5'6 and weight 250 lbs, I have been walking everday, at least 1 mile, and on days I have classes 2, My doctor diagnosed me with hypothyriod disorder. He said that once I drop the weight it will go away, but dropping the weight has been so hard. I drink lots of water, its all i will allow in my fridge, (well and milk and OJ). I do pushups and situps and everything else my old 1GS from JROTC used to make us do, but I haven't lost anyhting, i keep gaining.

What can I do to help me shed some wieght, I want to serve after I graduate college, but it is hard to drop weight for me and I am so far above the weight standards, even the B/f % IS LIKE 42%. I feel gross, and I know I look gross and I am dedicated to fixing this.

    Any Ideas?

Well. I guess the key is that you have a known medical condition. Due to some complications of such a condition, you should probably check with a physician on the best way to loose the weight. Off the top of my head, I think your condition may at times have heart complications. As such, getting advice from the general public could be dangerous for you.

However, I do applaud your commitment to loosing the weight.

nope, no heart conditions, mine isn't that serious, its just ver agrricating b/c I can't lose wieght. I do have common sense so as to not take some of the sugestions that may come to me, i have looked at some o the other posts and so realize that some ideas are not so smart.

Again, I am just very commited to losing the weight. It my condition was more serious I would probably be on medication for it, I am not.

Just an FYI for those of you out there familiar with this stupid thing.

    Thank-you however for your concern

    OK. Understood.

Well. If your Physician has no problem with it, try incorporating something like weight watchers. I know several people that have lost a good amount of weight on the program. With a level of excercise, that should get you off to a start.

My wife and I did the program for a while. It was interesting, to say the least, on what foods we thought were healthy for us, but were not. It sure changed our overall eating habits for life, which has helped us keep weight off.
