Thread: Active Duty to National Guard

Default Active Duty to National Guard

I am currently serving as an active duty officer in the US Army. Right now I am a Field Artillery Officer and it's not the branch I would like to be in. If I decide to go NG after my commitment to the US Army is up would I be able to re-branch? I would like to either go Infantry or apply for the Physician Assistant Program.

Each state has different force structure, but you are welcome to ask for any basic branch vacancy. You'll need to complete the Career Course for that branch within 12 months of appointment.
