Hearing Waiver (3)

I went to meps yesterday passed everything with flying colors. Made really high on the ASVAB, enough to be a combat medic which was my choice. But then I get to the hearing test and fail it on 2000dB i got a 45, and nothing can be over 35dB. They recommended a waiver. So now I have to write up some things. Does anyone have any ideas on some good things to add in my letter. What are my chances of getting a waiver. I know I can't be anything now with hearing of 3 except a cook really , but I'm willing to take anything just to be in the guard so it's not my MOS that I care about. I want to be a soldier. I just need some help with how to convince them. Do I even have a chance?

they are making you write somthing in order to get your waiver? I thought you just spoke to an ear doc and they gave you one based on their opinion of the situation.

I know with my eye waiver (in progress) I have not had to do anything yet. They are [slowly as usual] taking care of the paperwork.

went to meps on mar 31,06 had a problem with hearing.i was tol a waiver was possible,waited until dec.06 to find out from recruiter that the waiver was put in wrong with the wording.today i hear i was denied the waiver by ngb what can i do?

How bad was your hearing on their test? I did fine at 500dB and 1000dB only scored like a 0 and a 5 on each of those in both ears.. then after that it started getting ugly. Like at 2000dB I think I got a 35 or 40 both ears.. and it was about the same as that for 3k, 4k, 5k, and 6k. And the doctors were like all shocked because of the way it was.. I'm not sure exactly what there is to be shocked about, is it that most ppl fail on the 500 or something? So they were just like "what is wrong with your hearing?!" and I was like I don't know. I just sat and starred at my paper which looked more like Japanese to me, because i didn't know what any of it meant. I always thought I heard fine . So could someone help tell me anything about that?

Yea they told me I needed to submit a letter from myself, and I also have to go to an ear doctor. So i pretty much submit my own letter with the ear doctors. And he said I would know something back in about 2 months from the time he sends it all to them. But the recruiter and the meps doctor told me to write a letter. So I'm not sure at this point.
