I wish to join as an assistant and complete the course then start the Chaplin's course.

The Chaplain Assistant is in no way a prerequisite to becoming a Chaplain. They are two very different paths. To serve as a Chaplain you need endorsement from your denomenation, and a Master of Divinity degree (or equivalent).
