Right now we live in Virginia , but we dont want to settle down here , would it be possible for a guard recruiter to look at technician jobs in another state and then my husband apply for that position ?
If he were to become a technician , does he have to enlist in the guard ? or does the state just employ him and he works with the guard ?
- Your full-time status has nothing to do with your deployability. If your unit is called, you go.
- Speak to a recruiter in the state in which you plan to live.
- If the job is coded as a "dual-status" technician, then he must serve as a drilling ARNG Soldier as a condition of employment. There are also DA-civilian and state-civilian jobs, but they don't seem to come open very frequently.
