hello, im 24 yrs old and a single mother of 2. im about to graduate college and i want to join the Army national guard. I am very scared about not being able to pass the APFT during basic. I look like i never had kids. im 5'9" and weigh 134 lbs. but at the same time, i havent worked out, ran, lifted weights, did push ups, or any kind of physical activities since high school. What are my chances of passing the test??

If you start preparing now and working hard, the chances are very good. Start doing a little bit each day and you will be fine.

Don't worry about passing the PT test now. You have all of basic training to get in shape. The only thing you have to worry about before you start basic training is passing the Pre-basic assessment. As a female, you only have to do 3 pushups, 17 situps, and run a mile in 10:30. If you can do that now, you will improve in basic training and be able to pass the PT test by the end.

You have some workout partners Your kids can begin to learn good habits now about physical fitness and good health - aside from the fact that they can be hilarious to watch trying to do some excercises (which adds levity to your workout) as well as providing motivation when they yell over and over again ONE MORE

I know this from spending time watching a friends child (babysitting) and doing some excercises suring the day...
