    Default ?'s about being a ranger

    what do i have 2 do so i can go 2 ranger school my mos is infantry does that help at all?

    Being an 11B would definately help but you need to be in a unit that's required to have ranger qualified personnel. It's extremely rare to see anyone in the National Guard being sent to Ranger school if there isn't a justification such as a requirement for that qualification in the UMR.

    I share your motivation soldier. I just got back from Fort Benning infantry training and a quarter of my platoon had Ranger contracts. Made me think I should have went active. I am 27 years old so thats why I chose the guard. Im still thinking of switching. You have to wait six months after you come home from Basic/AIT to switch. Reading about Ranger school constantly and hit seems like few things you could do on this earth could be more exciting and challenging. I know you can't be in the 75th ranger regiment in the guard, however in some cases go to ranger school and wear the tab. That is what I want to do, just have the tab.
