Default College student Afraid of being called up

i'm a college student and i want to join the National Guard but i am afraid of being deployed overseas. I have no problem going to college and joining the guard at the same time. Can anyone help me with this. Like is there any jobs in the guard that wont get deplyed or other things. Thanks

not sure if there is any certain mos that doesnt deploy, it depends on if your unit goes. but if you get deployed you can take online courses for college overseas. ask your recruiter about it.
    Good luck!

Being a member of the Army National Guard means that you may, at some point, be activated or deployed to serve your country. There are ways to help you go through college before you are deployed. If you enroll in ROTC while you're in college, you are not deployable until you graduate. The National Guard also has an enlistment option called "College First" that ensures that you don't get pulled out of school to deploy. (at least for a period of time). For more information on these programs, talk to a recruiter in your area, or visit:

my advise is don't sign up. Not being mean, but its a constant worry about being deployed. Don't join, sadly is the safest bet. However, if you want to get through college then dont care about deploying. Do slit option. You use up one summer for basic. And you get a whole year of college before you have to finish the second part AIT. Which in the mean time makes you undeployable because your not finish. The draw back is you dont get your bonus till you finish. That two years of college right there. Now after, that you still run the risk, but most likely your unit has went in that time
