Default MOS 92R aka Parachute rigger

hello, I am wondering if anyone knows if women can hold the MOS 92R even though you need to get a GM of 90 and a CO of 90 on the ASVAB. Co is combat total and I know that women can not do combat so I was wondering is this classified as combat? If so then what other Airborne MOS's can a women hold.
    thanks

    Default Hey there

I am a 91W/Combat Medic. I knew a lot of females that went airborne from this course but I believe you can do airborne with any job as long as it is in your contract before you leave for Basic Training. Don't quote me on that.

Women can be riggers, and the ASVAB scores that are required have nothing to do with being in a direct combat MOS. To be a female rigger in the ARNG you must be assigned to a unit that has female riggers, as well have met all the pre-qualifications of the ASVAB, hieght and wieght, and physical fitness standards.

Being Airborne is not an MOS specific skill - it is additional to your MOS if you hold and Airborne slot in an Airborne unit. If the unit is "coed" and is Airborne then you will have a chance to go to Airborne school - Again you have to ensure you meet the prerequisites to be able to attend.

If you talk with a professional recruiter (as in face to face) they can let you know what units are available, if there are Airborne or Rigger slots available to women and what you need to do to contract into that slot. You should call your recruiter today if this is an important pending issue.
