Being a paratrooper does not mean holding a specific MOS, being a parachutist is actually an additional skill to an MOS that is held. To be a paratrooper you have to be assigned to an active Airborne unit which will entail you going to Airborne School after your BCT and AIT.

There have been people who have been able to attend Airborne School who are not in an Airborne unit, however this is not the norm. For most of these people they showed outsatnding dedication and ability and were awarded the school.

In an Airborne unit all MOS's held by that unit require thier soldiers to be Airborne qualified.
