4 years Marine Corps, considering joining the Guard after 12 years of civilian life. I've seen the new uniforms. Are black polished boots authorized for wear with them, at least in garrison?

Black boots are NOT authorized.
AR-670-1 is the Army regulation on uniforms.
I highly encourage you to study up on it as it is VERY different and more complex than the Corps.

Don't worry about black boots anyways, the new uniform is dessert boots and acu's. You still are allowed to wear black "military regulation" boots like jump boots etc. However, invest in some dessert or woodland boots , not need to shine or polish welcome to the national guard.
