Default Good news for texas recruits

So I found out today that any one with a medical wavier that was approved before they stopped takeing them now have the chance to enlist. This is great news so call your recruiter. I know this to be true because a sgt. major that I know really well happens to be the NCOIC of a few areas in texas.

Is it only for waivers that were approved before the ban or will they also process the waivers that were recieved before the ban as well

I am in Austin,my recruiter is SST Gifford,he is a good guy but he does not seem to be up to date on things. I have recieved information about policy changes two days before he does,I found out about when they suspended medical waivers and contacted him,he said it was just a rumor then he called me a few days later and told me it was true.

I find it the same with the recruiters up here, I keep refering them to the forum, but I guess they dont want to do it. As a matter of fact my recruiter told me once that he gets so many memos that he quit reading them.

I am going to call SST Gifford one more time next week and if he does not seem like he can do anything I will try SST Blanton. I see a surgeon on Monday to schedule the surgery to fix my hearing so if everything goes well I should not even need a waiver. I would just hate to switch recruiters and have to start all over again. I am looking at active first so time is a factor because no one knows how long that will last.

Active First basically means that you join the Active Army for 3 years and have your contract with the National Guard already locked in for when you come off Active.
