    Default Advice

    Here are my current qualifications..

    - Michigan certified firefighter 1 & 2, hazmat operations. Been on volunteer fire department for 4 years.

    - Michigan state certified EMT. Working at ambulance company full time for total of 3 years so far.

    - in November/early December I will have an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice.

I've been thinking of joining as MP, but I've also considered paramedic and firefighter. Does anyone have any advice? I can go three different directions, but I'm having trouble deciding for sure. If there are people out there in each job, could you offer some input on it?

Any information would be extremely helpful in my decision. Please email me at ping9798@hotmail.com or send a PM on here.

Thank you all in advance for your time in reading and possibly responding to me.

    Default Hey there

Hey I am a combat medic/Healthcare specialist. I LOVE my job. If you like the being a medic then I would definitely say do this. You could go to be an LPN too. Which is 91W with a M6 identifier. This means that you would go to basic, then go to your combat medic training/healthcare specialist training (which is 16 weeks, maybe shorter since you are already an EMT), then you would go on to do about 6 more weeks of training at ft sam to become an LPN and then go to a duty station for a year of clinicals. This is a great job in the military and it opens you up for becoming an RN in the civilian world and if you do that you would become commissioned in the military. If you have any questions feel free to message me.

I would also recommend the medical field as the one with the most potential for career development.

91W is a great MOS. However, I don't know of any M6 (LPN) slots in the Guard. There are many in the Army Reserves/Active components. Unfortunate but true.
