I enlisted in July 2006 and have yet to receive my first half of the $15,000 bonus. Finally got through on the phone to a real person and was told i SHOULD recieve it in another 30 days! Don't count on getting that bonus money fast, you will be heartbroken. And if your counting on it to keep your lights on or food on the table then you best start buying candles and learning how to gag down bugs. Also i've been to 2 drills and haven't been payed for that either. If your joining the Texas National Guard i hope its just to serve your country and not pay bills.

As a member of the TX Army National Guard, let me first on behalf of my state appologize for this members post, if he really felt like he is being denied his bonus he needs to take matters up with his chain of command and if he gets no help there he needs to do an IG complaint and not come up in the forums and cause havoc. You are prior service you should know the protocal in handling matters like this, please don't discourage others with you actions.
