Default Marine Corps Warrant Officer Joining the ANG

I am a retired Marine Corps Warrant Officer. I retired after 20 years of service in July 2004. I currently live in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Previously I have been told that I can not join the ANG and it is a non waiverable.

If you currently receive retired pay for your military service, then yes, you are ineligible for National Guard service (see NGR 600-101, eligibility standards). Basically, you can't draw two paychecks from the military at the same time.

If you retired from the reserve component, and won't draw retired pay until age 60, then you may be eligible -- several other factors come in to play. Contact your state Officer Strength Manager.
