Money for rent???

Hi
Read something on one of the forums that in addition to your approx $1500-$1700 per month while in basic & AIT - you can also get some kind of assistance for your rent?? Is this so?? or is that included in your monthly pay while training. I live with my fiance and and we both split the rent. Live in New York City so can't tell you how expensive the rent is.

I've heard conflicting stories, so I'm not going to tel you what you'll get. But, you will get more if you get married first.

If you are married, you are eligible for (BAH) Basic allowance for Housing. However, Since you will be in training, you will only recieve a portion of that. This is called BAHII or differential, it is usually about half of the full allowance, the pentagon has a link for military pay and allowances.
