    Default dd214 run around....

I am prior service and looking at the option of NG but have had a heck of a time gettimg my dd214. blston office sent me to DC army records who shows no record as the time is more than 5 yrs ago. so they sent my request to national archives who says it may take up to a year to find it. luckily I have weight to loose while I am waiting...loll. Oh, and recruiter can not get it or the shorter verson either....

Can anyone think of any suggestions????

    thanks for your assistance!!!

Ask your recruiter to run a REDD report. This will show your periods of service, discharge codes, and your ASVAB scores.

I can run that report for you if you just give me your full name and SSN (trick question -- don't ever give out personal information on a message forum, or to people you meet on a forum!).

I had to submit a request to the archives twice before they found mine. My service was too long ago or something so there was no REDD (or whatever) report in the computer.

One thing that might help is to ask your congressman to ask for you. Just tell them why you want it, and they will likely get something found out pretty quick.

the same things happening to me. I'm prior service Marine Corps, I'm still on IRR until feb. I have all of my paperwork completed and am just waiting for my recruiter to get ahold of my dd214. He's having a of a hard time getting his hands on it. It's been about 2 months and we still don't have it.

I'm having the same problems. My recruiter has spent the last month and a half trying to get my dd214'2 and still nothing. I'm getting frustrated as ****. It's the last thing I'm waiting for to be able to swear in.
