Thread: Anyone had to do this?

Default Anyone had to do this?

I just separated Active Duty AF just over a year ago. I just talked to a Army Guard recruiter yesterday that said I would be enlisting under the blue to green program and would have to attend basic training with the Army if I enlisted. She said because I am prior service, it would be a shorter period of time than the full 9 weeks. Has anyone else here ever experienced or heard of this? I'm definitely up for it, but I have never heard of it before. Is what she said about the basic training being shorter and easier true, or should I expect the full 9 weeks and equal treatment with new recruits? Thanks!

Yes, the recruiter is correct PS Navy, AF, and Coast Guard have to attend what is called Warrior Transition Course. There is a plethra of information at miltary.com under the Joining the military discussion forum
