    Default Time Table on Waiver?

Just curious what you guys think about a time table on a couple waivers I need. According to my recuiter he says they should only take about 3-14 days. But to be honest reciently I have lost a little faith in him. I'm waiting on to waviers. The first one is a Family Seperation waiver. I have joint custody of my son physical/legal so that requires a wavier. I also need a medical wavier for a minor arthroscopic surgury I had on my shoulder about 5 years ago.

Just want to get some opnions on how long u think these wavier may take?

    Thanks

Your recruiter is giving approximately 3-14 days that is about right. The waviers may take longer due how many people are getting waviers at the same time a you are too.

Thanks for the info! I'm more worried about my recuiter getting the signature from an MP CO for my wavier than anything.

I got DQ'ed on a shoulder surgery for a dislocated shoulder back in march of '02, that was back on the first week of July '08. I only just got waiver approved for an ortho counsel on my shoulder at MEPS last monday (that was my second visit, the one prior was on Dec 17th). Passed with flying colors but here I am on thursday and I'm still waiting for NGB to sign off and clear me on my waiver. And its supposed to be a "quick turn around" from ortho counsel to approval of waiver to being able to enlist. And by quick I mean 48 hrs, or so I was told. Clearly I've been waiting longer than 48 hrs though.

Now this is just me personally and my situation, could vary for others. I was told the same thing as well about how soon it would take and clearly that wasnt true, at least for me. I could just be extremely unlucky but take my situation and plan for the worst while hoping for the best.

Good luck though with trying to get in. I'd like to know if you get wavered and approved in a timely matter. I get a feeling its just my MEPS being sloppy as I wasnt the only one waiting a long time for a waiver approval.

So I got myself a new recuiter since my old recuiter was dropping the ball. My new recuiter submitted both of my waviers this morning. I will keep everyone updated on how long my process actually takes!

Yea I feel the same way Piatt. I talked to my recruiter and he said I should be good to go hopefully next week to sign up. I'm trying to get in and done as well b/c my unit might be deploying within the next yr or 2 as well and I went to peace out with them as well.

I wouldn't count on that 3-14 days, I need a medical waiver as well. I was told it would be a month max to get the consult and everything all done. Well its been over a month now and my recruiter hasn't even heard if I am eligible for a consult yet, let alone doing that then enlisting lol.

I think the 3-14 days is misleading because those are "work" days....

I feel for you on the shoulder waiver. I had arthroscopic surgery last March. I scheduled MEPS on my 6 month and 1 day post op. I made it without a waiver. I was real worried though, and he didn't want to pass me, but he did.

Well I'm half done wavier wise. My new recuiter submited both my waviers on Thursday day and my family care plan wavier was already approved as of Friday. So now I'm just waiting to hear back from MEPS on my medical wavier for my shoulder. My recuiter seems pretty optimistic that he will hear from MEPS by tomorrow.

Just got the news that my medical wavier has been approved so I'm heading to MEPS tomorrow. So including the weekend and Presidents Day yesterday it still only took 5 days total to get both my waviers approved.

I just got off the phone with my recruiter he said that he called MEPS today and that they haven't gotten my waiver back yet. He said they sent it to doctor(s) and since I had a lot of paperwork with my waiver that it would take longer. It has been over a month now, am I being BS'd and getting the run around? He said my moral waiver is fine (approved) but this medical waiver is taking forever.

    Default As of

tomorrow i have been waiting four weeks on my medical waiver. Its for something really easy ( anascoria, which means i have one pupil bigger than the other..... kinda look like a stoner lol ), so hopefully it should be any day now.........
On the plus side it has given me a lot more time to prepare myself physically for bct so i guess thats good.
