  • Age waiver

I am searching for a way to obtain an age waiver. I am 52 years old, former infantryman served in the national guard for 9 years, and other than being out of shape have no health issues. I would love to get back in but other than being repeatedly told you're WAY too old" no one will talk to me. Is there any way to obtain an age waiver?

    Re: Age waiver

You missed the cut-off by 3 years (see below). The only possible waivers for age 52 would be for current Medical Doctors (ie heart surgeon or something)

Prior Service applicant 35 years of age or older must be eligible for retired pay by age 60. Basically, must be able to complete 20 years of qualifying service by age 60. See AR 135-180, chapter 2, for qualifying service.
