Don't hijack other threads, start your own new thread. And do a search in the forums for "infantry."

Incorrect Marine. MCBUL 5314 Enlisted Career Force Controls (ECFC) Progam is active duty only at this time. It also does not apply to Active Reserve (AR) (essentially same thing as AGR in Guard speak).

MCBUL 5314 ENLISTED CAREER FORCE CONTROLS (ECFC) PROGRAM
          Date Signed: 10/02/2012
          MARADMINS Active Number: 548/12

          6. RESERVE APPLICABILITY. THIS BULLETIN IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE.

          -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ACTIVE RESERVE (AR) PROGRAM ENLISTED CAREER FORCE CONTROLS (ECFC)
          Date Signed: 10/02/2012
          MARADMINS Active Number: 552/12

          (B) PER REF D, SGTS MAY REENLIST UP TO THEIR SERVICE LIMIT OF 13 ACTIVE DUTY YEARS PROVIDED THEY HAVE NOT BEEN PASSED FOR PROMOTION, ARE RECOMMENDED BY THEIR COMMANDING OFFICER, AND MEET ALL REENLISTMENT REQUIREMENTS.

Note: "Actice Duty Years" is just that, how many years were spent in a state of service equivalent to active duty, not meaning that all years were Active Component.

If you have any other questions please let me know. I'm heading to the Guard also after I EAS this fall. The Marine Corps has some silly things going on right now but don't make in decisions with bad gouge.
