  • Commissioning into the Air Force

Hi all, I've done a few searches and the only information I have found has been a few years old (and we all know how quickly things change).

My current situation, I am an 11B in the NCNG my enlistment with the NG ends at the beginning of my Junior year of College, but I also have 2 years of IRR after that. With my projected commissioning into the Air Force being at the end of my senior year, is a DD368 during my Junior year all I will need to be released from the National Guards IRR requirement?

    Respectfully,

    Ravenger

Your commissioning authority will handle closing the loop with the IRR. Ensure that your ROTC instructors know about this.

      Ravenger,

Congrats on a successful National Guard contract. As you stated you'll need a release from the IRR via a DD368, you will be able to complete the rest of your MSO in the Air Force. To the best of my knowledge it should not be a more complicated process than that. Reference AR601-280 for additional information.
