  • Commissioning Ceremony

Looking for a little direction from anyone who may know. Myself and a few others recently graduated from AOCS. I'm trying to get our commissioning ceremony put together and things are starting to come along nicely.

However, there is some confusion as to who can swear us in, who can give our first salutes and the proper uniforms for the ceremony. I've been trying to find the reg on this but no dice. Can anyone point me to a reg or something that will help us get squared away?

    Thank you!

    Re: Commissioning Ceremony

In our ceremony the COL that oversaw the RTI swore us all in at once. Not sure of the regulations on who can and can't, but I believe it has to be a commissioned officer.

For first Salute, we were advised it either had to be an NCO or Prior NCO (retired) for the first salute. We wore dress blue uniforms and those who we chose to do our first salute could either be in ACUs, Dress uniform or if retired civilian attire.

    Hope this helps.

    Congratulations on completing the program.
