  • Promotion after being flagged and MND

I have been in the Guard for 2 years and 3 months. I am an E-1 who was MND when returning to my Unit and flagged for PT fail because of my MND. I have yet to be promoted and still am E-1. I just passed PT but am still MND. What can I do for promotion? Will I just be advanced to E-2 even tho I should be a SPC ?

Why would you jump from E-1 to E-4?

Unfortunately, new soldiers that graduate from BCT/AIT are coming to their units and failing PT tests within 90 days of reporting. IMO, there is no excuse for this, unless (perhaps in this OP's case) for an injury that hindered him. But for 2 whole years?

OP, if you got flagged as an E-1, your next promotion will be E-2 even though you have two years time-in-service. I took a voluntary-reduction but when it was time for my promotion; I never said I should warrant E-7 or E-8 because I had 15 years TIS. Just continue on passing your PT tests and you will continue to get promoted.
