  • 68P Radiology Specialist Question

I have a quick question about MOS 68P. When you complete AIT will you have all the proper certifications to work as a radiology technician in the civilian world? Thanks for the help.

This is an extraordinarily rare MOS, so I strongly encourage you to develop at least two other choices (at least one of which not in a medical field).

XRay Techs are an extremely saturated field in the civilian market and many techs that graduate with their AAS/AS degree with state license along with ARRT credentials cannot find work. You should strongly consider an alternate MOS. No you will need to sit for your state license board along with the ARRT board after you complete AIT. (ARRT is not required by law, but civilian employers prefer this credential). The completion of AIT will not enable you to gain civilian employment as an XRay Tech. The diagnostic imaging field has been saturated for a few years now and will remain in this state for the next several years.
