Hello all. I'm looking to enlist in Pennsylvania (where I attend university majoring in mathematics) in early summer of 2014. I'm interested in military occupations offering both infantry training and something more (artillery fire support or mortars). From what I can gather, an 11C has all the training of an 11B plus mortars, however a 13F doesn't shoot at all during AIT. Could I, as a 13F, expect to be brought up to speed at the unit level (assuming I'm slotted with an infantry unit)? I'm hoping I'd be given the opportunity to work with small arms and learn the MOUT / tactical skills as well. If not at monthly drills or annual training, could I at least expect intensive small arms training before a deployment? Thank you.
