  • Minor in Consumption of Alcohol

Okay, so I know that this has probably been asked on here before, but I couldn't find it. I was charged with a DUI my freshman year in college. I blew a .05, but since I was under 21 and I blew over a .02, in my state it is considered a DUI. I got a lawyer and the lawyer pled me down to a minor in consumption and wreckless driving. My recruiter told me that we should be able to get a waiver for the minor in consumption charge, but I'm just wondering if being charged with the DUI even though it got pled down to a MIC, disqualifies me from service. Sorry for posting another one of these "waiver" threads.

Thank you for you for your time.

Quick answer is that it is not by itself a disqualifier. What it was adjudicated as is inconsequential however, if for example it was a DUI and then reduced to some lesser offense. Either way, you should be fine as long as it is your only issue.
