  • Worked an under-the-table job for the past year...does this prevent me from becoming a CO?

As the title states, my last main job was "off-the-books." I meant the job to be just for a month or two after I moved to a new place, but with my college loan payments I had a hard time making ends meet, and a harder time finding other work. I do not owe any on my taxes due to not having made enough money to be above the poverty level, but there is no record of my work for the past year. Could this prevent me from becoming a CO?

I am looking to join this summer and originally planned on enlisting for infantry, but the recruiter encouraged me to try for officer since I am otherwise eligible. I have no criminal record or any run-ins with the law.
