  • ROTC and Deployment

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if there's a way for me to do ROTC and still be able to deploy. I think ROTC would be very beneficial and would give me a little extra help paying for college, but my recruiter says I would be non-deployable? I want to deploy at least once before I become an officer so I can hopefully see some combat (I'm 11b). Can I volunteer or is there a way around this?

Once you contract ROTC you are non-deployable. You can still be a part of ROTC and not contract but the chances of deploying lately are slim.

You can do 2 years as an ROTC participant and not be contracted (you have to contract your MSIII year). However, non-contracted cadets do not get any financial support through the program.

      Weigh your options OP.
