It really depends on your rank/position and how good of a job you want to do.

XO or PL, vs SGT. Quality of work being that which is expected: accomplishment of all objectives in a professional and timely manner.

Specialist, since you have experienced neither both will be new challenges for you but a SGT is responsible for his team or squad if any. When I was an NCO in the Guard, I was tasked with giving a Land Nav class or to conduct PT on Saturday. Then I prepared for that on my off-time when I got off of my regular job. I was a squad leader in the Guard but since I really dealt with my guys one weekend a month; it was not a hard chore. While being on active duty as a Squad leader (let the drama begin!!), it is more like being a babysitter with issues non-stop (DUIs, Married Soldiers sleeping with Soldiers in the barracks, late for PT/work, insubordinate, etc). I became a counseling statement guru. I had an E-7 over my house for the 4th of July and he did not leave work until 1900 since he had to go deal with a Soldier who got locked up and another one that has been issues since day 1 (19 month Private). The way he tells the stories have me laughing non-stop. But its truly sad. Being a leader is not easy period. Many want the rank but not the responsibility.

I was an NCO on AD before I became a Warrant Officer on AD and they both have different roles. I have to brief to my bosses who is a Major (OIC) and his boss who is the BC (LTC). So I create/modify those powerpoints at work/home. As a officer, your scope will widen and duties as well but we are accountable to someone. An LT can get slammed by a CPT like a SGT can get slammed by a SSG or SFC. You get slammed by everyone higher.

A lot. I'm not kidding... you could get by with almost no time at all, but you have to want to be a "Forever 1LT" to do so.
