I've been searching around and haven't been able to find anything real clear. What are the details of state OCS?
I've been enlisted in the GA ARNG for 1.5 years now and I'm in a scholarship program Georgia has for National Guard and Air National Guard soldiers that sent me to Georgia Military College for 2 years. I don't want to go the ROTC route my last 2 years of college, and was wondering that when I get out of this school with 60 semester hours if I could start state OCS and then commission when I have 90 semester hours, requiring that I have my bachelors degree by the time I make CPT.

Can anybody please clarify if this is correct?
    Thank You,

    Re: State OCS

With 60 hours twords a BS/BA degree and a valid degree plan, you can attend State OCS (18 months). However, you'll have to have 90 hours to commission and you won't make CPT until you have your BS/BA.

So in a sense, to answer your question, yes. You plan looks good on paper.

Get with your unit leadership as GA may have other "state" requirements that are not common across the board (i.e. - having to go before an OCS board, having a 270 APFT, etc).
