  • Color Blind and 73A

Are there any eye vision requirements for serving as a 73A (social worker)? I have 20/20 vision in both eyes. I received a letter from DoDMERB stating I need a repeat Red/Green Color Vision Test. Does anyone have any information on this? Is this something that I am going to have to get a waiver for?

    Thanks!

    Dvan,

AR 40-501 is silent regarding color vision outside of MOS particularities with the exception of entrance into ROTC, OCS or USMA. I do not see anything in AR 135-100 that would preclude you either.

      Mongoose,

Thanks. I am in the process of trying to get back into the military and when I received a medical remedial from DoDMERB w/out explanation. Just trying to get as much intel on the process as possible.
