    Officer/Warrant Officer Affiliation Bonus (OAFB)
    1. Affiliate for a 3 year term of service.
    2. Must not reach 60 years of age (Mandatory Retirement Age) during term of agreement.
    3. OAFB agreement must be signed within 180 days before being discharged from Active Duty and affiliating into the National Guard.
    4. Affiliating for continuous active duty is not allowed.
    5. Officer must have received an honorable discharge from all periods of military service.
    6. They also must not have been a two time Non-Select for promotion.
    7. An Officer conditionally released from another selected reserve for affiliation into the National Guard is not eligible.
    8. An Officer cannot receive the Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) or the Chaplain Loan Repayment Program (CHLRP) incentive simultaneously with the OAFB incentive.
    9. The Federal Tuition Assistance Program is available to receive concurrently.
    10. Officer must be accessioned in a valid vacancy in the grade of O-2 through O-4 or W-2 through W-3. Refer to the regulation for more details on Tiers and scoring.
    11. They must also not fill an excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy and be in the position for which they received the incentive on the commission date. No exceptions authorized.
    12. Officer must never have received a prior OAFB for service in any Selected Reserve component.
    13. The Officer must not be receiving retired or retainer pay or be eligible to retire.
    14. Concurrently participating in financial assistance programs or other federal benefits may not be allowed. Refer to regulation for Disqualifying Federal Programs OAB/OAFB list for more details.
    15. An Officer (does not include Warrant Officer) must agree to serve in the AOC for which the incentive was awarded for the full term of his/her agreement. A normal career progression is allowed providing the Officer is in the primary position holder. Refer to regulation for more examples and details.
    16. The Warrant Officer must agree to serve in the MOS for which the incentive was awarded for the full length of their agreement. Exceptions may be granted for removal from the agreement on a case-by-case basis due to promotion and/or acceptance to staff and command positions.
    17. The Officer must not be in an Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) or Military Technician position where membership in a reserve component is a condition of employment.
    18. The Officer may be eligible to participate in the Army National Guard Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) program.
    19. The OAFB agreement is not valid if signed after the execution date of the Request for Reserve Component Assignment Orders and/or not signed by an approved witness at the time the document is executed.
    20. The issuing of an OAFB for a date prior to the OAFB request date is not authorized.
    21. The OAFB incentive is a lump-sum payment processed upon affiliation into the National Guard and after reporting to their unit of assignment. Refer to the regulation for Tier levels and payment amounts.
