  • Running Injury Sustained at Home

Hello, I have a random question that I'm hoping some of you will know the answer to.

I hurt myself while running at home. I know that if I were at drill and hurt myself during PT, then I could potentially qualify for a LOD injury and treatment would be covered through the Army National Guard. Though, I was running at home (as a way to stay fit for the Army National Guard), can I qualify for any LOD equivalencies? What if my injury turns out to be a serious one? Am I screwed since the injury took place at home? Would there be any chance for VA Disability? Any answers or references would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your time,

    Eric

No. By definition, a Soldier cannot have a line of duty injury if he's not in a duty status at the time.
