Im in the process of enlisting. Im taking my ASVAB this week. My only worry is I have a small plate in my left hand. On my 5th metacarpal (pinky bone in hand). My hand is 100%, and I was told the plate can come out at anytime. I just dont have medical insurance. Does anyone know if would be a problem.

Based on what you've said, you stand a good chance of being eligible. Here's what the Medical Reg (AR 40-501) say about hardware:

"(2) Current retained hardware that is symptomatic, interferes with proper wearing of protective equipment or
military uniform, and/or is subject to easy trauma, does not meet the standard (V53.7). Retained hardware (733.99)
(including plates, pins, rods, wires, or screws used for fixation) is not disqualifying if fractures are healed, ligaments
are stable, there is no pain, and it is not subject to easy trauma."

Ultimately, if it's not causing you any limitation in movement or pain, you should be good to go! Check in with your recruiter. Good luck!
