    Do you mean Augusta?

What MOS is your son going into?

This doesn't sound right at all. Nine Months? Atlanta, GA?

Hate to be the boy that cried wolf, but this seems phishy to me.

Could be AIT combined makes a total of 9 months training....

I agree, I'm curious to know what his MOS is?

If you are looking for ways to contact your son while away, I would recommend getting in touch with his recruiter. He'll have the information you are looking for.

Perhaps the OP is mistaking the airport their son flew to for the base. Which is likely Benning. But there is also Fort Gordon, but I believe they only do AIT.

9 months would leave me to believe Fort Gordon. Those 25 series cats have some seriously long schools.

We probably won't get another post from the OP but just to add that Fort Gordon is not a "boot camp" (basic training) location where you learn how to march and shoot during your first 8 months of initial entry training. Fort Gordon is an MOS/AIT location and I have not seen any AIT run for nine months; not even the NCOES/OES/WOES courses. I am Signal and was based at Gordon for 7 months. I shall return there next year.

Perhaps a combination of BCT/AIT will add to nine months but the Soldier would have went to Fort Benning, Fort LeonardWood, Fort Knox, Fort Jackson or Fort Sill first.
