  • Virginia Army National Guard soliciting Aviator applicants

    CAVEATS:
    1. This message concerns current on-board DMOSQ Virginia ARNG Soldiers in good standing. If you are a civilian, in the RSP, currently on active duty, on medical hold, pending AWOL discharge, or anything other than a current on-board DMOSQ Virginia ARNG Soldier, then you have several hurdles to overcome before you can even think about applying.
    2. Whatever you do, don't contact me. There are POCs at the bottom of this message.
    3. Don't call the POCs unless you are a Virginia Guardsman (or a Guardsman of another State willing to transfer in your current enlisted MOS and then apply).
    4. Don't call the POCs unless you meet the standards described in the message, and are willing to endure the hardships required to become an Aviator.

Re: Virginia Army National Guard soliciting Aviator applicants

    Sir,
For my benefit and everyone else interested, could you provide the monthly aviation shortfall by state like you did previously?

    Thanks

Re: Virginia Army National Guard soliciting Aviator applicants

Good evening Sir, I have a few questions about this process. I had originally seen this message the day after it was posted and had contacted Mr. French AND a Guard recruiter to get myself in the Guard. I passed my physical, AFAST, the ARB and have already signed the commitment paperwork. I have NOT been before the FedRec board yet and do not have a date for school. I am prior enlisted Navy and turned 30 the day of my ARB. I am now attached to the aviation battalion and am currently on AT orders with them and loving every minute of it. My questions are 1) What now? What exactly happens next? 2) Am I supposed to be a WOC now or does that happen at some other time? 3) Im not eligible to fill any of the current slots available for flight school because they are all short fall short courses and I am an E-5 without WLC or Pre-WOC. I can not register for either class because I am listed as an 09B and ATRRS will NOT let my training NCO schedule me for anything as an 09B. I was told that the long course slots might not come until the end of the year. By that time I will be 31; will I be too old at that point? Thank you in advance for any info!
