  • Question about ROTC and Medical Question

So I have several questions actually.
    1. Lactose intolerance, does that disqualify me from joining?
    2. I used Paxil in the past, for about a year I believe. I was not depressed, just used for a slight anxiety issue (VERY low dose)
    3. ROTC - If I join ROTC as a sophomore when would I "get caught up" as far as the courses I would have taken had I joined as a Freshman.

Those are my main questions but also could anyone tell me about their experience with any of the following:
    42A Human Resources Specialist
    68E- Dental Specialist
    68H- Optical Laboratory Specialist
    68P- Radiology Specialist
    68Q- Pharmacy Specialist
    68X- Mental Health Specialist

Thanks! I am just starting to research the possibility of joining, so I am not familiar with a lot of stuff.

No, Lactose intollerance will not keep you from joining.
How long ago in the past?
Depressive disorder not otherwise specified (311), or unspecified mood disorder is a disqualifying condition (296.90), UNLESS:
    (1) Outpatient care was not required for longer than 24 months (cumulative) by a physician or other mental health professional (to include V65.40).
    (2) The applicant has been stable without treatment for the past 36 continuous months.
    (3) The applicant did not require any inpatient treatment in a hospital or residential facility.

If you chose to do SMP, you would not need the first year of ROTC, if you do not do SMP, you may be required to make up the course work through a Leadership Development course.
