  • Security Clearance (OCS)

I want to enlist for the first time into OCS. I meet all the other qualifications but I'm not sure if I will pass the criminal check for security clearance. I was arrested once for petty larceny about $40 in food. When I was 17 I ran away, I thought I was cool and I ran out of money pretty fast. This charge was a “sealed” charged as a juvenile but I understand that means nothing to the FBI. This charge is a misdemeanor; it was my only arrest and run in with the law. The arrest was also about 8 years ago. I have a spotless record since and I’m a current school bus driver. Is this charge something that would stop me from enlisting non-prior into traditonal OCS? Should I be concerned?

I wouldn't be concerned, but make sure you tell them about that. If you lie, then you might get denied.
