I'm used to all the local HS cadets because I help out the local recruiter, but two Army ROTC cadets showed up. This was fine with all of the chaperones, including me. They got mad at me and a good friend of mine because she wouldn't dance with them, but she did with me. Well they approached me and her(whom is also in the NG) and started harassing her. Well I told them they had to leave if they was going to start trouble. The senior cadet tried pulling rank on me!! I was like "WTF?!" (I didn't use vulgar language during the whole conversation) That didn't go over to well with me when he tried to order me to parade rest. Well I looked over at the NCO's in charge and they gave me the ok to let into this kid. He's talking all kinds of crap, but I shut him up real quick by pointing out uniform deficiencies. I'm not going to go into much detail about the rest of the event, but they were moving with a purpose when they left. It's really stupid to trash talk someone's career when they haven't even done anything. Point is it really irks me when cadets have no respect for members of the military because they think they out rank and can do anything we do. They don't even know.

    PFC > ROTC kid.

Don't blanket it. A few SMP cadets are prior service NCOs with combat experience. Although, I agree in general. Heck, I'll say PV1 > ROTC cadet. At least the PV1 knows he doesn't know anything.

Maybe their MOS doesnt state they can do it, but I bet with a little bit of training they sure could.

That I never know when COC says to be somewhere at a certain time if they have included the be 15 minutes earlier then the 15 minutes early you are supposed to be there or not.

That organized sports can be cancelled because it is causing too many injuries but yet you can be expected to run the APFT two mile run on a road with holes big enough to swallow a person, in the dark.

Being kept in the dark about things. No maybe you dont think it is important that I know why I am ordered to do something really retarded, but it would sure save on all the time we sit around and complain about it when it could easily have been resolved if you had just told us why. Knowledge is power and there is no reason why you have to act so much better just because of what you wear on your chest. I understand in IET being kept in the dark and what it teaches a person. But once I am part of the team, just remember that I do know that in combat I could be ordered to do something that doesnt make sense to me and I will do it without hesitation, but right now, will it really hurt you to tell us what is going on.

Specialists being promoted just because. I think WLC should be done as a Specialist again and required for Sergeant.
AGH, I was with you right up until the bold part lol. I feel as if it's not my fault that I'm a sergeant with no WLC. I know some good NCOs who haven't had a chance to go yet.

And then after the dance, on your way out the door, they ROTC cadets were waiting for you, having just returned home from a long tour of duty, you didnt have control of your reflexes. When they attacked you, you lost control and gave one of them a palm to the nose, killing them.

For years your family wrote to you in prison, but you knew things were going wrong when they loaded you on the plane to be finally be released. Little did you know that you would spend the next day or so pretending to support the criminal uprising, while protecting the female prison guard. The US Marshall service considers shooting down your plane, but thankfully, one of the marshalls believes it to be a hasty move and that you are actually an ally.

Now, on a serious note, I once had an Air Force ROTC cadet inform me that I was to salute him and any other cadets. I laughed and walked away.

LOL. I remember we had a cadet in my unit who finally got his butter bar and excitedly came up to us on his first day of being a lieutenant, and just stood there waiting for everyone to salute him. We all just stared and went, "What's up?", he walked away all sad.

LOL agreed. I got one guy who is going to get his junk smoked off next time he makes a crappy excuse to get out of work.

Guard Fulltimers that take "breaks" by 9/10am, 1.5-2hr lunch breaks and then leave by 4-4:30. With much of that "work" time spent typing away on a cellphone or computer.

Females that do the above, and their male NCOICs do nothing....because they're females.

Re: Military things that irk you.

Ooh, I gotta be honest, it killed me in AIT (the last and only time I worked with females in the army) to watch girls ask the guys to carry their rucks/do their details and the dudes that did it made me even MORE mad. Although I got mad respect for the girls who carry more weight than the guys.

I hate AGRs in general. Most of them collect an active duty paycheck by screwing M-DAYS over when they don't do the simple things like pay and stuff.

lol agreed. I've been lucky enough to have officers who were all enlisted before. I just can't stand hot shot 2LTs who did nothing but go to summer camp. I remember in AIT when some 2LTs walked by and we saluted them, and as they walked by and high fived each other because we had to salute them.

I cant stand when people whine and complain about AGR's based on what they think is happening and they dont see all the behind the scenes extra time put in that still often averages over 50 hours a week even leaving early every now and then when you actually have down time.

woah, didn't mean to blanket my complaints, just saying. I mean when I go to the armory during the week and everyone's playing basketball and nothing you asked for is done, sends a bad message.

WLC is pointless. If someone actually needs WLC to learn how to be a NCO they shouldn't be one in the first place

I agree though that some do give others a bad name.

thank you! I've never been, but I'm sure my experience in Iraq and leading a section somewhat makes up for a 2 week course or however long it is.
