  • 25B- Shipping in January

I am headed to 25B (Information Technology Specialist) AIT in January at Fort Gordon and am just curious if there is anyone else out there who is currently at Gordon for 25B or shipping soon.

I was 25U, we were separated from the Bravos while in AIT but I had some friends from BCT that were Bravos.

But I'm willing to field any questions you may have.

C447 is still jacked up? LOL! 2006 baby.

When I was there - there was no organization to what company or barracks you were in. We had 25B, F, Q, N, L all in the same barracks. They tried fixing it before I left but then new recruits came it and it just stayed mixed up.

Everyone was on different phases, everyone was different MOSs, handfuls of chapter cases and med holds (2yrs+).

Other then that, the pools and PX are nice. So is the rec center :D. lol

If you like Chinese food MeeMee and Bobo's is the bomb! So is Dragon Express ( i think its called that) off post. All the restaurants deliver to the company too.

I heard they were changing some of the classes to the longer time to see how it works, but my orders say 20 weeks. If I am there longer, no worries! I have no where to be in 2010 except AIT lol.

I have also heard people are having to wait 4-5 weeks to get into classes (as of 2 weeks ago). Same thing, if I am there longer, no worries!

I have most of my questions answered, so the rest will just have to wait until Thursday when I get to Gordon.

Oh, I do have one question no one at RSP can answer. Obviously when I go to MEPS on Thursday to ship, I am in civvies. Do we wear civvies to check in at AIT? I've heard accounts of people having to check in wearing A's.

If you are going to AIT from BCT you will be told what to wear. If not, you should get the info from the school.

For me, I read to report in ACUs by Sunday (being that school starts Monday). But I'll be in a different battalion than you so yours may be different. However, I found the information on the school's website.

I have searched the school's site high and low, but couldn't find anything. I will try again today and also shoot out an email. Thanks!

YOu do have to wait to get a slot, as there are 3 other Companies Alpha, Bravo and Delta. ast I heard there were going to phase out Delta company, but hasn't happened yet. the way that you get classes is my priority. Alpha company has preference because they are MOS-T meaning that they are re-classing and have to get back to there unit, next it's national guard and army reserve because your state is paying for you to be there and will not extened your pay. Thats another thing you alwasy want to keep an eye on your LES, because as you stated that your orders say twenty weeks well that's all there going to pay you. You will have to get your orders extened.

Good luck, also you wear civies to MEPS when you ship, and when you finish basic and are off to AIT you wear ACU's

I've recently heard similar about Guard receiving priority, so that helps.

I will have to speak with someone there once I get to Gordon about my orders only saying 20 weeks, and what I would actually get paid for if I was to be there longer.

I already went to BCT back in 2004, I have re-enlisted and am just shipping to AIT. I've been told to just wear my civvies to MEPS and then once I arrive at the final airport to put on ACUs.

I have been at AIT for a month now. We started classes this past Wednesday. Time has flown!

Word of advice for any who want it. Make sure you go to AIT able to pass the APFT. The PT done (at least here) is minimal and they serve huge portions at the DFAC. You do the math on the result!

Other than that, it is pretty interesting to say the least!
